Some Important Growing Basics

Eye Protection comes down to a basic rule of thumb regarding any form of lighting. The reality is the fact that if it’s good for your grow (Commercial or home) it’s bad for your eyes. Ignore this at your own risk. No matter the type of light you are using the potential to damage your eyes is great. Sunglasses that block both Infrared Radiation and Ultraviolet Rays are critical and their use should be considered essential at all times. Shielding sunglasses are also important as they assist in “recoloring” your vision so your grow looks like it actually is. Without these glasses your grow may appear to have a splash of violet or orange and may cause you to make adjustments that are detrimental to your ultimate goal.

Pest Control can often be handled with a tool many ignore and one that everyone can afford… The sticky trap! This is about the least expensive option you have. I advise this to my largest and most successful growers and home growers as well. With sticky traps you have the added advantage of knowing what you are dealing with while knowing you stopped the ones you’ve trapped. There may likely be more and now you know what to look for! No training is required and you aren’t introducing anything toxic. Having visual evidence shows the quantity of a particular pest and that allows you to decide if your need to bring in a professional pest control service. More on that later!
